The 18th International Symposium on Operations Research in Slovenia (SOR 2025) took place in Bled, Slovenia, from September 24 to 26, 2025. The event was organized by the Slovenian Operations Research Society Informatika in cooperation with the Universities of Ljubljana and Maribor.

The N.EA research group and the Department of Operations Research in Katowice were represented by Prof. Tomasz Wachowicz, Dr. Anna Gorczyca-Goraj, and MSc. Krzysztof Grzanka, who delivered research presentations during the conference.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for an exchange of commemorative diplomas between representatives of the University of Ljubljana and the University of Economics in Katowice.

 On the occasion of the jubilee of the International Workshop on Multiple Criteria Decision Making (IWoMCDM), Prof. Tomasz Wachowicz presented a certificate of appreciation to Pro. Lidija Zadnik Stirn, Chair of the SOR Scientific Committee, recognizing her regular participation and contributionf to the organization of IWoMCDM, as well as her long-standing collaboration with the Department of Operations Research in Katowice. In return, Prof. Zadnik Stirn presented a certificate of appreciation addressed to Prof. Tadeusz Trzaskalik and his team from the Department of Operations Research (KBO) at the University of Economics in Katowice, acknowledging their many years of cooperation and active involvement in organizing SOR conference sessions.

In the scientific program, the Department’s researchers presented the following co-authored papers:

Representatives of the Department were also active participants in the social events accompanying the symposium, taking second place in a general knowledge quiz held during the conference gala dinner.
